No one has posted a comment on this? Incase Necromancer newcomers are confused about this, using this and touch of agony can do around 90 damage if you're maxed. With any sacraficing in general this isn't a bad skill at all to have. Using touch of agony with dark pact can not only hurt you, but kill you opponent.

Combos well with Aura of the Lich to reduce the self damage. Sacrifices will be reduced to 1/4, making Blood Renewal a great self heal that also triggers the Dark Aura itself. Dark Pact and Touch of Agony as the above poster mentioned are the two really nice aggressive skills to combo in.

Question

When the description says "sacrifice health", this is only through willingly giving up health, like some of the blood magic skills, right? Getting hurt against a foe doesn't count? Everyone in my group @ school gets into arguments over this skill, even some of the non-necromancers.

Sacrifice is only from skills that specifically say they cause sacrifice, yes. (As opposed to Dark Aura, Infuse Health, Ether Prodigy and such, which damage you, but aren't sacrificial in nature.)
Initially, there were only specific skills that caused sacrificial life loss, but now Cultist's Fervour can make all of your spells sacs.

Something interesting to note about Cultist's Fervour + Dark Aura is that when you cast a sacrificial spell, you sacrifice twice, Fervour and that spell, and Dark Aura triggers twice, often for high damage spikes of over 150. Of course, you lose ~25% life from sacrificing, and then another 40+ from the aura per go, but such is the price one pays, I suppose. Just thought it was note-worthy.
